Due to a promotion in the team an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, passionate and outgoing individual to take on the role of Macallan Brand Ambassador covering Central & Northern Europe.  The role will be based out of Amsterdam, and whilst it will primarily focus on The Macallan, it will also provide training support for Highland Park and Glenrothes.

 

The purpose of the Brand Ambassador role is to build The Macallan and our other single malt whisky brands across the Central & Northern European region in line with the global strategy.  The role will involve extensive travel across Central & Northern Europe with a special focus on The Macallan key cities. It will report into Irene Serrano, trade marketing Manager with a dotted line to Sietse Offringa, head of education. 

 

Reporting to the Area Director - Southern Europe, key responsibilities include;

 

  • Rolling out Macallan’s spiritual home strategy within our most prestigious accounts.

  • Training distributor staff, ensuring their knowledge of our range is up to date and that they have a basic understanding of how The Macallan performs in their market.

  • Building a trade network for the Macallan and influencing regionally and globally famous bars and bartenders. Sharing wins and best practices within those accounts.

  • Working with the regional and local teams to develop and implement a range of brand communications tools that are in line with brand messages and objectives

  • Launching and supporting The Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes activations, regionally.

  • Supporting Sales and Marketing local teams with strategically important sku launches/activations. Domestically and in GTR.

  • Deploying and amplifying drinks strategy across the region.

  • Hosting inspiring events for trade and high net worth individuals.

  • Being the voice of the brands across social media in the region, building a social media profile followed by influencers across the world amplifying all your activities.

  • Tracking the impact from high net worth/trade/media events and report quarterly on qualitative and quantitative take outs.

  • Building a database of key trade and influencer contacts to ensure we are talking to them directly.

     

The successful candidate will need to be seen as an expert in the field of whisky, possess excellent presentation skills and have the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences in different languages. A prerequisite is that English & German are spoken and written fluently. Knowledge of Dutch will be beneficial for the position. An on-trade/hospitality background is desirable together with previous experience in the drinks/spirits industry.  Experience in a luxury industry or the licensed on or off-trade would be advantageous.
