Brand Ambassador - The Macallan (Hong Kong) - Hong Kong

The purpose of the Brand Ambassador is to build The Macallan and our other single malt whisky brands in the market, in line with global strategy.   You will be the focal point for Macallan knowledge in the market.


You will play a key role in brand building through driving conviction, brand trust, and image among consumers, key trade and media to facilitate conversion to TEG brands.  The position involves hosting of whisky presentations, whisky immersion / tasting programmes, passing of brand knowledge to trade staff and consumers, new product introductions.  You are the advocate of The Macallan and other TEG brands within Hong Kong & Macau, collecting intelligence conducive of brand building and reporting consumer feedback directly to the brand management team.  Furthermore, you will identify and help the team execute exceptional events in your markets to recruit new Macallan enthusiasts.



  • A spokesperson for TEG brands in the market.

  • Conduct whisky training and consumer tasting programmes in the market.

  • Training staff of customers, ensuring their knowledge of our range is up to date and that they have a basic understanding of how The Macallan performs in the market.

  • Working with the domestic team members under aligned direction to develop and implement a range of brand communications tools in connection with brand-consumer interface that are in line with brand messages and objectives.

  • Supporting Sales and Marketing teams with strategically important SKU launches/activations.

  • Deploying and amplifying drinks strategy with relevance to Hong Kong and Macau.

  • Working with the team to host inspiring events for trade, whisky enthusiasts and high net worth individuals.

  • Being one of the voices of the brands across social media in Hong Kong and Macau, working with team to build a social media profile followed by influencers across the world amplifying all your activities.

  • Tracking the results from training and tasting events and reporting quarterly on qualitative and quantitative take outs.

  • Working with CRM and DTC for building a database of key influencer and end-consumer contacts to ensure we are talking to them directly to help grow DTC business in long run.

  • Qualitative requirements pertinent to brand presentation include:

    • Deliver messages with credibility and authority.

    • Translate global on-trade trends for local inspiration.

    • Being on point in style and substance.


Successful applicants should have experience including:

  • A background in the drinks industry and strong understanding of hospitality and luxury consumer goods.

  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of whisky and sensory assessment in spirits

  • Fluency in English

  • Excellent knowledge of whisky as a category and especially single malt, with a fiery passion for The Macallan and TEG products.

  • Excellent presentation skills and a strong ability to communicate with different audiences.
