Given the focus on brand integrity and the criticality of the integrity and heritage of Macallan, a new role has arisen within the Macallan business unit for an archiving professional where best practice can be applied to the brand. This role will sit within the central Macallan Marketing team. The primary responsibility of this team member is to develop the systems and processes required to establish and maintain a comprehensive brand archive for The Macallan. This will encompass product – both present and past – as well as heritage and brand materials. The person will also develop a process for recording rework & repair to Macallan product, for good practice and to support the company’s authentication capabilities.

 

Reporting to the Director of Prestige, key responsibilities include:

 

  • Establish protocols for the gathering of internal/ external brand information and material.

  • Partner with Business Technology team to implement process software and hardware requirements to meet brand archive management capability. Consult on the management of Brand Hub.

  • Ensure archive management protocols provide a permanent and secure repository for the brand.

  • Liaise with brand team colleagues, Corporate Affairs and Legal teams for archiving and authentication management.

  • Manage photographic and imagery content – existing and new product.

  • Develop and maintain regular internal reporting content relating to the brand’s history, heritage, and the people and partners of The Macallan.

  • Advise on development of processes to support: Authentication, Brand Protection, Customer Service, Product Tracking.

  • Work with Facilities and project teams to ensure physical storage environment is suitable for products, materials and documentation.

  • Manage related budgets and spend for maintenance of Archive Management system.

  • Provide support for authentication management and tracking.

  • Liaise with industry peers to coordinate and collaborate where appropriate.

 

The successful applicant will be an experienced archive management professional (university educated, complemented by recognised Archiving & Records qualification), with experience of working in an archive management role. They will have worked in a lead role developing and managing processes & utilising systems for the management of archived materials – both physical and digital formats. It would be beneficial to have worked with companies, brands, or on projects that relate to consumer-facing and/or media-related environments. It would also be beneficial to have knowledge and familiarity with spirits brands and/or premium-luxury consumer brands.

 

The job holder will be confident and capable of interpersonal communications at all levels of an organisation, as well as being forward-thinking, logical and process-driven. A strong research-driven mind-set is essential. The job holder will be committed to professional development and adaptive to new technologies. Private sector experience would be beneficial.
