Corporate Affairs Director - Glasgow - City Centre

An opportunity has become available for a Corporate Affairs Director to replace him. This position is charged with leading the Company’s corporate affairs agenda and exists to support the chief executive, the board, and the executive committee with specialist analysis, guidance, and communication material to advance the company’s reputation.



Reporting to the Chief Executive, key responsibilities for this role include:


  • Coaching and developing the corporate affairs managers and directors in Glasgow, Singapore, New York, and Santo Domingo.

  • Managing policy and regulatory developments by leading and aligning Edrington’s position through to consultation input.

  • Managing government associations by establishing good relationships with national governments and constituency representatives.

  • Understanding UK and international political environment.

  • Leading Edrington’s representation and input to sectoral trade associations and development agencies in the UK.

  • Ensuring strategic stakeholder management by developing a network and engaging effectively with priority stakeholders.

  • Developing and leading the CSR strategy, with an emphasis on alcohol in society.

  • Leading the company’s internal and external communications, including the annual reporting of results.

  • Responsibility for managing the departmental budget.


The successful applicant will have previous experience of policy and regulatory activity, strategic communications, and an ability to lead and develop a team. They will be able to work at a senior executive level with an ability to identify and build key relationships (both internally as well as within government, international institutions and trade associations) in respect of policy and regulatory activity. They must have excellent writing skills, be able to communicate with impact and have experience of brand and company commercial dynamics across functions and geographies within an international organisation.
