An opportunity has arisen to join The Famous Grouse Experience in a key role as General Manager. The General Manager has overall responsibility for The Famous Grouse Experience, a 5 Star visitor experience that blends history and drams and is the spiritual home of The Famous Grouse. Fundamental to the role is leading and motivating the team to grow the business, achieve financial targets and maintain a high quality visitor experience that represents Edrington and The Famous Grouse.

 

The role has 3 direct reports, and overseas a total headcount of 15.           

 

Reporting to the Global Brand Controller – The Famous Grouse, key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Setting the vision and strategy of The Famous Grouse Experience (TFGE) business to deliver growth.

  • Ensuring strong financial results through effective control of overheads and increased spend and margin in retail sales.

  • Leading and motivating The Famous Grouse Experience team to deliver excellent standards of visitor care, safety, security and building presentation.

  • Overseeing the recruitment, performance management and development of the TFGE team

  • Preparing and controlling the annual budget.

  • Regular reporting of KPI’s and financial results against budget targets for TFGE, and the Glenturret brand

  • Developing new business and channels for TFGE and working with strategic partners to increase retail sales, spend per visitor and maintain visitor numbers.

  • Growing the online direct to consumer business for TFGE to sell higher margin whisky online to consumers

  • Ensure compliance to health & safety requirements in conjunction with the site production manager

  • Work seamlessly as part of The Famous Grouse brand team to deliver brand values and engagement with consumers

  • Manage and grow the Glenturret brand to achieve greater awareness, premium positioning and more sales.

     

     

    To succeed in this role you will have great people management and leadership skills with experience of operational management, ideally within a visitor experience environment. You will have high standards of delivering exceptional service as well as an ability to think creatively and commercial. With responsibility for the retail and bar elements of the visitor experience you will be comfortable juggling competing demands and prioritise while having an ability to present to a variety of different visitors.
