Following the recent recruitment at The Macallan Estate we have an increased number of people at this site now and as a result have an exciting new opportunity for a HR Advisor to join the team. This role will provide best practice HR services to the client areas within all Business Unit activities across the Distillery and Visitor Experience network (Highland Park/ Macallan/ Glenrothes/ Glenturret). Providing services to approximately 160 people, the role holder will support and coach line managers to deliver their people plans and work collaboratively with HR business partners and centres of excellence to deliver HR strategy and projects.

 

The HR team have some exciting ambitions for the function and this role will play also a key part in driving these initiatives.

 

Reporting in a matrix alignment to HR Business Partners, key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Engaging line managers and employees to leverage the Edrington Academy and the 70:20:10 approach to learning

  • Undertaking systems administration, managing reporting requirements and coaching managers to access and get the most from their data

  • Working effectively with line managers, HR Business Partners and Head of Resourcing to ensure that all vacancies are managed effectively, supporting the graduate and internship programmes

  • Advising and coaching line managers on the role they play in the development of their team and objective setting

  • Working with managers and employee/ trade union representatives to ensure minimal employee relations issues and maximise employee engagement levels, taking an active part in the trade union partnership forums

  • Supporting HR BP’s and line managers to execute plans for increasing employee engagement

  • Advising and coaching client managers on workplace/ ER issues, resolving these within the context of prescribed company framework, policies and trade union agreements as required

  • Supporting and coaching line managers in the investigation and handling of grievance and disciplinary matters

  • Keeping abreast of employment law changes, considering the impact on company policies and updating as required

  • Ensuring all data for payroll is processed accurately and on time, working closely with Reward and line managers

  • Be a competent user of HR systems and other packages which help to ensure an effective and efficient service to clients

 

To be effective in this role you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for all areas of HR. You will be excited by progressive HR initiatives and keen to bring best practice and new ideas into our business to help us be the best we can be as we strive to drive innovative and efficient practices across reward, resourcing and OD. Previous experience in an HR role is essential, having a solid knowledge of employment legislation and leading HR best practice. A CIPD qualification (or other HR qualification) would be an advantage but not essential. Experience of working in a unionised environment, ideally within a manufacturing or retail environment, would be preferred.
