An opportunity has arisen to join the Technology business unit as the IT Business Partner/ Associate Business Partner with extensive RPG experience.

 

Edrington are undertaking a material modernisation of their IBM/iSeries systems, involving relational DB2, stored SQL procedures, freeformat RPG and modern IDE tools such as GIT, Eclipse and PowerBI. In addition, we have an extensive portfolio of .Net/C# applications which is our core technology standard.

                                                                                                                              

Depending on experience, this role may be an entry “Associate” or full “Business Partner” position, though it is important to stress that full training and support will be provided. In particular, the role will benefit from direct mentoring from existing technical/business Subject Matter Experts with a view to becoming a key business and technical resource responsible for the identification, analysis and progression of value adding business change on critical business systems.

 

 

Reporting to the Principal IT Business Partner, key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Working with users to identify, analyse, specify and progress business change

  • Progressing technical changes in critical business systems

  • Ensuring full and appropriate testing procedures are followed and that system/service quality is assured

  • Running small/medium projects

 

To succeed in this role the following skills and experience are required:

 

  • Familiarity/knowledge/understanding of SQL and Relational databases is integral

  • Familiarity with DB2 and/or stored procedures would be beneficial

  • Direct experience of IBM/AS400/RPG is *not* required but would be beneficial

  • An interest in, or knowledge of, .Net/C#, PowerBI, GIT would also be added value.

  • A confident manner and the ability to form and maintain strong and lasting working relationships is essential.

  • Good problem solving and analysis skills are similarly essential.

  • A degree level qualification in “IT”/Software Engineering is essential.
