As a result of an internal move, we have an exceptional opportunity to join Edrington as Marketing Director for our Regional Power Brands (RPB) business unit.   

 

Reporting to the business unit Managing Director, the role is responsible for setting the strategic brand direction for the RPB business unit and is a key member of the RPB leadership and the Edrington Marketing leadership team. This role will be based at our HQ in Glasgow City Centre.

 

Within the RPB business unit, the role is responsible for the development of our brands portfolio and the commercial delivery of these across the globe - challenging and inspiring the team to deliver great brand strategies, communication, innovation and activation plans.

 

The Regional Power Brands portfolio of brands consists of; The Famous Grouse, the No.7 Blended Scotch brand globally and No.1 position in 6 market.  Brugal, the No.4 rum brand globally, with predominance in the Dominican Republic and Spain. Our new comers - Naked and 1888, both fabulous brands with a strong growth trajectory

 

Key responsibilities of the key role include;

 

  • Leading the development of the RPB brands strategy

  • Inspiring a team of marketing professionals to create and execute the individual global brand strategies for The Famous Grouse, Brugal, Naked and future innovation

  • Challenging and strengthening the brand communications, innovations and activations across RPB brands

  • Building strong relationships with regional managing directors and marketing directors to ensure communication of brand strategies and specific opportunities in their regions are being exploited.

  • Leading and embedding the Brand Growth framework across Regional Power Brands

  • Championing the global marketing Leadership team across key activities of talent management; delivery of marketing capabilities; Edrington growth model and marketing Code

  • Acting as a key member of the Brugal leadership team, attending and contributing at quarterly Board meetings in the Dominican Republic

 

To be successful in this role, you will;

 

  • Be experienced in managing a brand portfolio, combined with a strong track record, most likely at Marketing Director or Brand Director level

  • Be educated to degree or MBA level in a marketing / business discipline

  • Have experience of leading a team of professionals in a marketing environment

  • Have the ability to strike a fine balance of creativity and structure; you’ll be an instinctive marketer with demonstrable creative flair balanced with strong strategic thinking

  • Be commercially astute, with both local market and global level marketing experience during your career journey

  • Be a strong communicator and influencer – this is a strategic marketing role and requires leadership through the organisation and the appropriate brand planning skills and experience

  • Demonstrate a track record in delivering exceptional work across all aspects of marketing from insight, positioning, communication, packaging, innovation to on trade and off trade activation is vital

  • Multilingual would be an advantage, especially Spanish
