Due to some impending retirements in January and March 2018, two excellent opportunities have become available at the Glenrothes Distillery for x2 Process Operators. As a Process Operator you will be part of a busy team who constantly work to tight deadlines, therefore it is essential that you can work well within a team environment.
Reporting to the Production Team Leader within our production environment, key duties and responsibilities of the roles include:
Receiving malt, yeast, chemicals and store securely in the appropriate areas
Achieving maximum available extract from the malt provided and ensure the wort reaches the Tunroom in optimum condition
Ensuring maximum fermentation efficiency from the malt provided and ensure this reaches the Still house in optimum condition
Obtaining maximum possible spirit of the desired quality from the wash provided
Operating efficiently and as economically as possible, ensuring energy consumption and losses are kept to a minimum
Health & Safety and Environmental conscious, ensuring all areas are kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition making sure that all defects found on instruments or plant are reported
Ensuring all HRMC procedures are implemented
To be considered for these vacancies you should ideally have previous experience gained within a similar production environment. The ability to take direction and work with limited supervision and be comfortable using computer programmes are also a pre requisite.
Relevant training will be given and the successful candidates will participate in the SIVQ process currently in operation, you may also be required to study towards the IBD General Certificate in Distilling.
This role will be worked on an annual shift system - 6am to 2pm; 2pm to 10pm; 10pm to 6am
