We have an exciting opportunity for a Sample Room Admin Assistant to join the Liquid Quality Team at Great Western Road.  

 

This role will be an integral member of the Liquid Quality team, responsible for the daily operation of the Sample Room. Maintaining a library of approximately 11,000 spirit samples, setting up sensory assessments and ensuring the sample room is maintained are all key elements of this role to ensure the success of this team.

 

Reporting to the Master Blender, key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Sample control, record keeping and documentation to HMRC regulations – booking in/out samples on electronic and manual systems.Management of these systems and full audit trail for HMRC compliance purposes.

  • Set up daily and non-routine samples for sensory assessment by the Liquid Quality team and sensory panels.

  • Customer sample requests and associated administration – updating of electronic sample systems, documentation filing, finance records (sampling and HMRC duty recharges where appropriate)

  • Despatch of samples though mailroom and to other Edrington sites.

  • Preparation of NPD samples in support of Master Blender/Master Whisky Maker (small scale liquid preparation to strict hygiene standards)

  • General housekeeping of a busy Sample Room – organisation of libraries, ensure supply of clean glassware/bottles and glass recycling.

  • Occasional business travel will be required with this role.

 

 

The successful candidate will have exceptional administration and organisational skills with an ability to approach work in a methodical manner. You should have experience of electronic data systems and files and able to work with great attention to detail, using your own initiative.

 

Previous experience in the drinks industry would be an advantage and a strong sensory aptitude is preferable.
