In order to support our key city strategy, Edrington has an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate and outgoing individual to take on the role of Macallan Brand Ambassador covering Greece, Cyprus and Emerging (East) Europe region.  The purpose of the role is to build The Macallan and our other single malt whisky brands across the region in line with the global strategy. Reporting to the regional Trade Marketing Manager the role will be based in Athens.     

 

Key Responsibilities include;

 

  • Hosting tastings for audiences and educational sessions for food and beverage staff with a varied level of whisky knowledge.

  • Rolling out Macallan’s spiritual home strategy within the most prestigious accounts in the Key Cities of theregion

  • Training distributor staff, ensuring their knowledge of our ranges are up to date and top of mind, and assisting in selling in to customers where needed.

  • Working with the regional and local teams to develop and implement a range of brand communications tools in line with brand messages and objectives.

  • Working closely with local distributors, launching and supporting The Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes activations, planning and executing events on a large and small scale within budgets.

  • Establishing and engaging a network of high net worth individuals and hosting inspiring events for them.

  • Tracking all commercial activity from market visits and reporting back on events and tastings hosted

  • Translating complex stories in to simple articulation of key brand messages across; Consumer Events, Trade Events, International Media outlets

  • Utilising social media (Twitter/Instagram/Facebook) to be the voice of the brands

  • Training, coordinating and working closely with local Brand Ambassadors network

     

    The candidate needs to be seen as an expert in the field of whisky, possessing excellent presentation skills and a natural ability to engage others. They will have strong Greek and English language skills (Russian is a plus), high organizational skills and previous experience in the drinks/spirits industry.  An on-trade/hospitality background is also desirable, together with experience of managing budgets and training others. Frequent travelling will be required for the role (50% of working time). Driving license is desirable.
