Following the recent expansion of our warehousing operations we are excited to announce the recruitment of a Warehouse Operations Manager for a new backshift. This will be a fulltime permanent opportunity working a shift 3.00pm -11.00pm Monday –Friday (37.5 hours per week).

 

This role will ensure that the Macallan Business Unit (customer) needs are fulfilled with particular regard to the management of sampling, racking and tap & repair operations.   The job holder will act as liaison between the BU and Operations team and will be responsible for planning and managing racking and sampling operations.  The role reports to the Head of Distillation and Warehousing and manages a team of up to 10 people at Speyside sites.  

 

 

Reporting to the Head of Distillation & Warehousing, key tasks and responsibilities of this roles include:

  • Manage maturing inventory to ensure highest possible maturation quality and minimal maturation losses

  • Manage K.P.I.’s to meet the Business Plan targets.

  • Manage warehouse labour requirements to provide effective overall site cover

  • Lead, coach and develop the warehouse team.

  • Identify and propose improvements in all aspects of warehouse operations in keeping with a continuous improvement culture.

  • Ensure sufficient stocks of raw materials are on site when required and monitor performance.

  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, H & S regulations and Environmental regulations.

  • Manage the training, development and appraisal systems for warehouse personnel.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and manage performance accordingly.

  • Ensure 24-hour process and Site security controls are adhered to.

  • Work with site employees to create an environment where good communications facilitate a team working environment.

     

    To be successful in this role previous experience within a warehouse and/or production experience would be preferred. You must have a strong track record of people management and leadership as well as experience budgetary control. An awareness of H&S, HMRC and environmental policies would be beneficial.
