An opportunity has arisen, due to a retirement within the operations team, to join the Highland Park site. This role will be one of a team of 3 warehousemen and a supervisor responsible for all new make spirit fillings and all cask management on site. This will ensure efficiency and quality whilst maximising output from the operation.


Reporting to the Warehousing Team Leader, key responsibilities for this role include:


  • To assist the Warehousing Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor with all warehousing duties and access to warehouses under HMR&C conditions

  • To carry out all cask handling, filling and warehouse duties and ensuring that these duties are carried out in a safe and secure manner as per work instructions and procedures.

  • Loading and off loading full and empty casks to/from vehicles.

  • Competent in the stowing and de-stowing operations

  • To have knowledge of different cask types, their construction and to recognise defects and know methods of repair.

  • Monitoring of casks during the maturation process.

  • Competent in the operation of warehouse stacking machines.

  • Competent in the operation of disgorging casks.

  • Collecting data as required.

  • Competent in the use of the cask scanning equipment

  • To have a thorough knowledge of work equipment and its usage

  • To take account of spirits and ensure that fillings are carried out to meet filling programme

  • To ensure empty casks are available for filling in a fit to fill condition.

  • To achieve all results as economically as possible, ensuring energy consumption and losses are kept to a minimum.

  • To ensure that all documentation is recorded to Company standards

  • To participate fully in continually improving the way we work on site.

  • To develop team working on site by assisting where possible to pass on skills and knowledge

  • To assist with site security cover as required

  • Full awareness of manual handling risks with this role

  • To support increases in production volumes by covering shifts when required

  • Be part of a roster to cover additional maltings work when required


(Full training will be given in all areas of the role.)


To succeed in this role you will have a UK driving licence, awareness of health & safety procedures and an ability to solve problems of a practical nature. Confined spaces training and a licence to drive a C1 category vehicle would be an advantage but not essential.
